This performance was for "Show Me What You Got" put on by Mahogany Events in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Summer 2019. The prize money was $1,000 which was won with this poem, "Build a Woman" against many different competitors from singers, poets, comedians, and more.
The Barbed Wire Open Mic Series in El Paso, Texas is the longest running open mic series in the city. It has contributed to the community so much that the city gave the series its own celebration day. This poem is about reflecting on childhood trauma and dealing with the guilt of leaving your younger sibling when you grow up to leave home.

Meeting of the Souls was a popular open mic event in downtown Kaiserslautern, Germany from 2018-2021. The event was hosted by my friends at Beliefs Over Acceptance. I adored them so much and the space they created that I wrote them a poem for their anniversary show.
