"Build A Woman"
This performance was for "Show Me What You Got" put on by Mahogany Events in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Summer 2019. The prize money was $1,000 which was won with this poem, "Build a Woman" against many different competitors from singers, poets, comedians, and more.
"Little Brother"
The Barbed Wire Open Mic Series in El Paso, Texas is the longest running open mic series in the city. It has contributed to the community so much that the city gave the series its own celebration day. This poem is about reflecting on childhood trauma and dealing with the guilt of leaving your younger sibling when you grow up to leave home.
"My Bowser Poem"
The Barbed Wire Open Mic Series has extended to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Yay, new friends and new venues! In this open mic performance, I highlight the relationship between dog and human.
"Amber Alert"
In this performance, my team: Return 2 Cindr, aggressively pushed the issue on missing children and the lack of concern by the public. This was for the "Show Me What You Got" put on by Mahogany Events in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Winter 2019. The prize money was $500 which was won with by an amazing singer that we all adore!

Fresh Cuts by BWOMS
BWOMS Presents Fresh Cuts with two poems from Vanessa Verse in this episode. The first poem, "Invisible Chains" is about surviving Emotional Abuse and the second poem, "Filipino Love" is about how a filipino family uses filipino food to express their love and care.
"Invisible Chains"
Houston's Write About Now Poetry event with featured poet: Vanessa Verse. In this portion of the feature, I performed "Invisible chains" a poem that is the raw and honest truth about a previous emotionally abusive marriage and a call to current victims of abuse.
"An Ode to Meeting of the Souls"
Meeting of the Souls was a popular open mic event in downtown Kaiserslautern, Germany from 2018-2021. The event was hosted by my friends at Beliefs Over Acceptance. I adored them so much and the space they created that I wrote them a poem for their anniversary show.
